Dr. Karin Nealon, D.C.
Dr. Karin, chiropractic physician and founder of La Luna Natural Health, relocated from Portland, Oregon to San Diego, Calfornia with her family in 2013. She incorporates her strong medical and scientific background to complement the manual therapy techniques of joint manipulation, soft tissue work, and craniosacral therapy. She specializes in natural healing, health and wellness for women and their families.
Karin graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Long Island University. After spending a few years in molecular research she was awarded a United States Fulbright Scholarship to study in Australia. Upon her return she continued in research and transitioned into the clinical healthcare realm, working in both a hospital emergency room and cardiology department. Discouraged by the way Western medicine often focuses on managing disease rather than promoting wellness, Dr. Karin became determined to blend the sciences of Western Medicine with the holistic approach of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She returned to school at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland.
While attending Western States, Dr. Karin birthed the first two of her three wonderful children. The experience of birth and motherhood focused her career interests to include care of women and infants. It also developed her passion for nutrition and healthy eating, especially in regard to children.
Dr. Rachel Hamel has completed advanced training in Applied Kinesiology, Sacro-Occipital technique, SOT Cranial Technique, Craniobiotic Technique, Pediatric Chiropractic care, IASTM, Rocktape, Webster Technique, Neuro Emotional Technique; and is working towards her ACN in nutrition, as well as certification in Cranial-Dental diplomat.
She is a member of ACA, Soto-USA, BABI (Bay Area Birth Information) and ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association). She received her bachelor’s with honors in Health Science from Whitworth University in Washington State, and her doctorate degree where she was valedictorian from Palmer West Chiropractic College.
Dr. Hamel is a caring and passionate chiropractor that strives to think outside of the box to achieve optimal care for patients. She herself has dealt with a chronic Lyme disease for over 9 years and spent almost 2 years completely bed ridden. “I was strung along the western medicine block for years, which left me sicker and sicker by the day, and without real answers."
It was with the help of a chiropractor and a naturopath that she began to slowly get her life back. “I never thought that I would even be able to finish school, let alone practice because I was so sick all the time, but God had other plans for me, and continues to bless me in helping others.” She understands the value of looking at the whole picture of health and believes that the patient’s condition will determine the course of treatment. “Individual needs can differ with each patient, and one treatment might work well for one but not for another. I went through dozens of different treatments searching for answers, so looking functionally at the entire body is key. It's like having a roof with a ton of holes in it, you have to figure out where each hole is coming from to really fix the leak.”
Dr. Hamel’s personal experience with Lyme Disease, scoliosis, pelvic floor as well as chronic headaches and TMJ, sparked her passion for treating these conditions and many others with integrated Craniopathy chiropractic care. Once in practice, she also began to see the immense need for advanced cranial care for infants, post-partum care (which is virtually non-existent in the US), functional dentistry and nutrition knowledge. This led her to gain further knowledge in these fields.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing your patient’s health renewed. I truly believe that God has allowed me to go through all of this suffering so that I might have a deep level of compassion for those who have difficult health issues. You don’t have to live with chronic pain.

Cassandra Sohn has worked in the healthcare field her entire adult life. Originally from Olympia, Washington, she started her journey to healing as a Firefighter/EMT. Realizing how much she enjoyed prehospital emergency medicine, she changed course, working first in physical therapy and later inpatient medical and oncology.
Cassandra was educated at Body Mechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage, completing their massage therapy program with extended training in kinesiology, arthrology, and anatomy and physiology. She later attended Monarch Continuing Education, completing their program in Complete Decongestive Therapy to become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. For years she has studied under John F. Barnes, learning his approach to Myofascial Release. She has been in practice 14 years.
Cassandra recently became an INNATE Postpartum Care Certified Provider through INNATE Traditions, a training which completely changed her life and sharpened her focus. Having always felt God had a plan for the use of her gifts and talents to help others, Cassandra strives to strengthen families. Following that path, she specializes in complete family wellness and more specifically women’s health. Seeing the huge impact on her own health and wellness, she uses manual touch therapies to provide that to others. Realizing the great need for postpartum care to help mothers and their families, Cassandra teaches a postpartum care class in the community. She is grateful for God’s promptings which ultimately led her to San Diego and her wonderful husband of over 9 years. "I am thankful for my hardworking husband and the untiring support he gives me in serving others, his help has been essential."
